Need infos about WW1 FK C96 n.A. 77mm.

Hello!

I'm restoring a German WW1 Krupp Model 1896 n.A Field Gun and I could use any documentation, manuals, original pictures, spares parts, ammo components, sights components, etc for this gun.

I have original manuals for the original C1896 a.A. and the FK 16 but so far, nothing much on the c96 n.A. In fact, very little seems to have been written on German WW1 artillery!

Thanks!

This is a nice site if you have not already discovered it.

I looked at a model 1896 gun for sale recently but I considered it too far gone.

I would be interested in a photocopy of your FK16 manual as I hope to get one of these soon.

You could try the guys from Great War Militaria. They are down in Pa. USA. They have one that they restored about 10 years ago. They have a web site. Just do a quick search online. Maybe they can help you.

Cliff

Here are some photos of the German 77mm Field Gun in Knowlton Quebec that I took last summer. Is this the gun that you will be restoring?

This is the gun that shrapnel is talking about.

The first gun features the late pattern wheels which allowed the replacement of individual spokes without taking the whole wheel apart.
