MKI folding rear seats

In another post, Ledsel identified a part in my MkI carrier as part of the folding rear seat assembly. (Thanks! I never would have known!)

My 2 manuals (FUC-03, UC-F1) have no pics of the rear seats or parts drawings. The parts list is there for the left and right rear folding seats.

Does anyone know if there is any documentation on these items in one of the other manuals? Or does any one have some good pictures and or drawings of them?

Thanks!

Here's a photo of the right rear seat. I don't know how good it is as I didn't look at it with my glasses on (lazy) Hope it's clear.

At least I think it looks like that piece you have. It's the piece that's hanging above the seat.

Clean it up real good with a wire brush, there may be a number on it.

What is the part that hangs where the engine cover meets the air duct? (in the last pic you posted)
Thanks.

Lynn it is the mystery part Ledsel identified for me. It appears to be the "Latch - Rear folding seat - R.H." CTL 14142A/B (L.H. CTL 14143 A/B) (page 276 FUC - 03)

Ledsel - It sure looks like the part! The picture is Just fine. But then I am looking at it with out my glasses! Does your machine have a right and left rear seat? At first glance it would seem the battery would be in the way for a left seat. or was it at the back of that side over the fuel tank?

Yes I have a left and right rear seat. The battery is under the one in the photo. You can just see it. Don't forget this is a mark II. The battery is on the opposite side. The seat swings up and you hook it with that piece of flat iron. This seat is also where the radio goes on this model.

AHA! I am FINALLY getting the hang of searching the posts here! I have found the answers on this question. Thanks to all the previous people who had the same questions!

Once you start digging through the old posts there is a lot of really good info. You also realize it isnt just you, most first timers run into the same troubles!
