Trip to Italy May 2008

My son and I will be going to Italy for a couple of weeks in mid May. We will be in the NE part of the country with some limited travel across the entire north end of the country. Are there any MV sites, events, museums, people that any readers can suggest or recommend? I haven't had much luck with emails etc to Italy and it never crossed my mind to ask here until I saw zemsi's post with pics from Italy. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi J.P.

I just sent you an email with some information. If you're up North in Italy don't miss the Lago Maggiore, it's in Switzerland, canton Ticino.

Close Italy is also the San Gottardo with an old WW2 fortress, open to the public. See also my posts here.

Have fun in Italy and enjoy the belle ragazze ;-)

Museo de Henriquez

... I think the Museo di Guerra should still be in Trieste:

See here and there.

Italian Air Force

... there's also a museum of the Italian Air Force in Roma. And another one in Vigna di Valle (Wikipedia).

Hi J.P.,

If you can manage to travel to Rome, I'd suggest you look up the Canadian Snowmobile at "Il Museo storico della Motorizzazione Militare" located at the Caserma Arpaia, Viale dell'Esercito 170, Roma-Cecchignola, Italy.

Regards,
Hanno

If you are going to the NE I would suggest a visit to the Caproni Museum in Trento. They have a wonderful collection of both military and civil aircraft from early 1900's through WW2. They actually have a good small hotel attached to the museum. There is a great hands-on science museum in town also.

Thanks

To all of you who have responded, I'd like to thank you. We are off tomorrow and will take pics of anything and everything that may be of interest to those, like us, that like this green stuff. A few places we already planned on but thanks to you all, we've got some more stops to take in. Thanks again and I'll be checking in about three weeks from now.
