Lest we forget. . .
Today, 4 May, is Dutch Remembrance Day, the day we mourn the dead of WW2. This evening, in many towns and villages around the country, wreaths were laid at memorials. At 20:00 hrs. the last post was played and two minutes of silence were held.
I would like to point out The Kangaroo Honour Role. I thank them for "Bearing Armed Men". :remember :salute: Hanno |
We shall remember them....
Today being the first Sunday in May, the Canadian Navy commemorates the Battle of the Atlantic. The sacrifices of those who served in the Canadian Naval Forces, Merchant Marine and Airforces and those of our Allies who paid the ultimate price for freedom were remembered today in Windsor Ontario.

Battle of the Atlantic
:remember This weekend a Battle of the Atlantic memorial parade was held in Londonderry. There is one every year and members of all local ex-service associations take part in a service at the memorial at Lisahally.
At this time those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Battle are remembered and honoured; of whatever nation, service or civilian, warship, passenger, or cargo ship:remember. Lest we forget. We salute one and all :salute: Paul. |
