I believe that we had gone over to the US pattern M1910 style canteen and cup with the 52 pattern webbing.

1951 Pattern Web Equipment

The Pattern is actually 1951 and not 1952 as many seem to call it and it was a hybrid pattern which used pieces and adaptations from both the 1937 Pattern Web and US Web. The Canteen, Canteen Cup and Carrier were adopted from US designs and manufactured in Canada. The Canteen Cup and Carrier were interchangeable with US models and as time progressed US manufactured examples were issued similtaneously with Canadian pieces. 1951 Pattern Web was initially issued to the final Korean rotations in 1954 as well as the Canadian Infantry Brigade in Germany starting in the mid-1950s. Full sets of the pattern were not available when the web set was initially issued and it was not uncommon to wear a combination of 1937 and 1951 Patterns until the required pieces (namely the Canteen and Cup combinations) were available for issue. The 1951 Pattern remained in use by the Regular Force until the mid to late-1960s when it was replaced by the 1964 Pattern; and many Reserve units until the early 1980s when the 1982 Pattern was issued.

Here are some Canteen, Cup and Carrier images from my collection.

Korean War Photograph

This is a very famous Korean War image and I believe shows 2 PPCLI in theatre. Everyone is wearing 1937 Pattern Web Equipment, not 1951 Pattern which is green and not tan coloured web. As well, the 1951 Pattern Waistbelt has US style eyelet holes to attach the Canteen and messtin Carriers, the Waistbelts in this image do not have the eyelet holes and are 1937 Pattern. Lots of kit being carried including and Insulated Food Container.

i wish someone would write a definitive book on the 51 pat web, similar to the 37 pat web book you authored. that book cleared up a lot of issues for me when i was building a set of 37 web.

1951 Pattern Web Equipment

The is a similar book in the works that will cover the 1951 Pattern Web Set. I am glad the 1937 Pattern book was of use to you.

Waterbottle Carriers

Sounds to me like you have a 1950s dated 1937 Pattern Waterbottle Carrier with the snaps on the top as opposed to the side, am I correct? What are the markings on your Carrier? Can you post an image?
