Steel Trays for Chev C15 and Ford F15

Looking in Australia for a steel tray for my Ford F15a. I think the dimensions from memory were roughly 6.5 feet long and 7 feet wide. Can you help?

Also just had my instrument panel restored by Bob Mosely. A great job. I can recommend his work to anyone. Good job Bob.Check out the pics in the restoration forum.

Steel trays

Hi Tim
There are a couple of basic trays used on SWB CMPs in Australia and there are also the Canadian ones about, a few of which were imported as complete trucks.
You should find one if you're persistent, but sometimes they need a lot of work to restore due to their construction and rust problems.
All the Aussie ones on both Ford and Chev were built by Holden.

Here's a pic of a F15A with a correct tray:

GS bodies

Hello Tim

As Keith said , there are a number of CMP 15 cwt GS bodies around . Over the years I have seen them , the GMH built ones outnumber the Canadian examples by a long way . That is a GS no. 2 ? Keith has pictured .

If you find one , more than likely it will be badly bashed about and rusty . One good thing though , the panels are flat and if you have access to the correct gear eg. metal folder and guilotine you can make up new panels . A drawback is , they used heavy gauge metal around 14 gauge which makes it more difficult . Try the local TAFE college engineering Dept. and enroll in a basic course , then you have the use of their equipment !

Good Luck

Mike
