WOA2 in OZ
1 Attachment(s)
I was looking through an old issue of 'Restored Cars' magazine .. as you do . I came across this pic of a vintage car rally held at Drysdale on the Bellarine peninsula.. down Geelong way. It is early 1977 . That's a young me at the wheel of Bevan Fenner's WOA2 ( Bevan was doing the running commentary on the tannoy, so coudn't drive ) .. with Andrew Browne in a Jeep following . We attended quite a few events down that way , the Colac show was another . The WOA2 was a 1976 import from the UK.. one that got away .

Hello Mike
Beautiful picture, this ford is WOA2A, There was a post-war version of the car built, called the Ford WOA2A, which had different wheels and tyres. The WOA2A was built from Dec 1945 to 1948. The Ford WOA2 was built from 1941 to 1944, and over 5000 were built. All services used them, including the National Fire Service and the Food flying squad. These cars are now very rare, as they were not built to last, and were also bought from the Army for their V8 engines, which also fitted the Ford Pilot car |
