25 Pr HE shells
Ed,
Thank you for your answer. But the kind of data I need is these like on the "royal artillery site" also in the forum "the gun park" of 9 october 2008. (guns and ammunition/field regiments/ammunition) Its a part of an archive 2000,but the pictures are to small and its not possible to read the text.(on the shells and the ammunition boxes) cheers |
Herman, this thread has pix of the ammo box with the printing. I have a couple of these boxes now.

Guys,
It's fantastic to meet people who has all this information. I am interesting in the markings on all the 25 Pr ammo boxes (shells and cases), the HE and AP shells. Also markings on the C267 cases box with 2 covers(for 4 cases on each side) as you can see on the picture. The most important now is the design of the driving band on the HE shells (and AP shells),so I can complete my 4 home-made HE shells. cheers |
Hi Herman
I have a scan of the info and photo of the HE shell but it is copyright and I don't know if I can put it on the forum. PM me your email address and I will send it directly to you. Barry |

finaly mystery solved. i saw about 5 miles of the case that you showed in the pictures above (left side), there must have been 5000 or more of them. they are used as center dividers along the main military highway in the desert in the mid east. i thought they were British but didn't know what they were.
well that's one way to recycle |
