Hi,
How do you build a ronded hatch :confused do you have any pic and dimention :confused Thx Eric |
Round Hatch
If it's the round british hip-ring i have a complete ww2 for sale which i was going to fit to a F60S. Obviously weight, size and shipping would be a problem but from what i can see of it not an easy item to fabricate.

I live in Cheshire, United kingdom. I would guestimate it's about the weight of a 15cwt wheel rim.

Rounded hatch made of wood

Hello
I own a canadian FORD F60L with a circular roof hatch. Strangely it's made of a great number of woodies parts as seen on the associated pic. Nevertheless I think it's an original part because these truck commes from french NAVY and there were never rebuilded by french. As I am restoring my truck ,I have downed the hatch and hope build an other in steel which should be more easy. ReGards |

Hi
Any one have a hatch or know any one have one for sale in Canada :giveup thanks Eric |
Need mine
I do have a hatch, but it is for my C8A project, currently in pieces. I could photo and measure the parts for you if you are thinking of replicating. There are six main pieces: A flat retainer ring with countersunk holes for inside the cab, the main vertical ring, which has the horizontal flange to match the retainer ring. Then the three pads, canvas covered horsehair stuffed, glued to curved metal strips to match the inner face of the ring. The wood bit is a tapered spacer hoop that levels the ring over the slope of the roof. There is also a metal retainer strip on the rear of the ring to hold the canvas cover. Various flathead screws are involved, of graduated lengths for the main ring, and those which hold the pads to the main ring.
