Had our carrier at Cambridges Armistace display in November. Great weekend & couldn't wipe the smiles of our faces! Thanks to Lynn & Jordan for the help with the seat information. We are after a fuel selecter switch & a oil cooler bypass valve to help finish it off if anyone would be willing to sell any spares? Also if someone could measure the locations of the handles on the engine side covers that would be great. Have included pics of a few of the other sights at Cambridge.

looking good, what pattern cammo is that on the British Bren ? I am trying to find out what pattern cammo would have been used on the Scottish regiments (Royal scotts fusiliers) or the KOYLI during the Italy campaign.

Hi
Nice machine but the ww1 tank :thup2:

KiwiKev 17-12-08 03:15

The Tank is owned by Peter Jackson, The Director of Lord of the Rings etc.
It's a replica to go with his collection of WWI Aircraft and was built about 4 years ago.
The kicker is its made of WOOD, the only way to tell is actually touch it, it has fake rust and all.
It moves and sounds like it should and the various Guns even fire blanks, which manage to scare the brown stuff out of those that get to close.
It was built by the team at Weta Workshops, who where also responsible for the LoR and King Kong special effects.
It looks and sounds amazing...

Best wishes to all and your families over the Xmas Period

We have painted our carrier in the scheme that all armour carried in the first 6 months of the Italian campaign of the 2nd New Zealand Div. I believe most British & Commonwealth units used similar schemes in Sicily & Italy. The base colour was Light Mud, although it seems some people called it Mud Grey, with a Blue/Black pattern. We had great difficulty finding a sample or anything to go by for the base colour, so we hope its close! We matched it from model paints and some colour footage. The actual pattern varied greatly, we copied ours from a few photos of carriers and shermans.

Thanks Lynn, the motors great. We had to pull apart some of the suspension shafts to free them up properly but other than that it goes great!
