Greetings to all. I reside in Ontario, Canada and wish to ask for some guidance regarding a situation that I have.
My late father was a collector of militaria of sorts (mainly German uniforms, hats, medals etc. ) but also had an interest in Bren Gun Carriers. As such I now have two hulls that we have on display on our rural property. I have no expertise in the matter except remembering him saying that intact hulls had more value than one which ran but was carved which to my surprise he traded away for a hull. I mention this because I assume that he knew what he was doing therefore they must be reasonable. My question then would be is there a way that I might have to get an approximate estimate of their value? Best regards, AP |
any pictures of them ? i guess it all depends on what is left on them i suppose
cheers Richard Ps welcome to the forum |

Thank you for the welcome. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures at this time as I only started to research the issue when a friend phoned and said that an associate of his was interested in buying them.
It turns out that this associate was primarily interested in a running model. ( he is a scion of Trinidadian petro-family that spends money on 'toys' and farms that is truly mind boggling). I posted here to find out if there was a rough benchmark in the valuation process. I was impressed by the level of knowledge and sincerety on this site. Perhaps in due time I could digitize some photos and post them but I personally lack some gadgets to do so in-house. Best regards- AP |
your pal is not Chris is it ?

No sir. I assure you that I do not know anybody in any field of militaria let alone Bren Gun Carriers. This call was purely out of the blue.
Cheers- AP |
yeah no probs just sounded a similar event to a pal of mine up top end of Canada.
like i said it all depends on what is left on the hull, and where it is located. I just bought one for $1500 cdn which from what i have been offered in the way of chopped down hulls seems to be a standard cost. some may agree or disagree i can only comment on what i have been offered matey. good luck cheers Richard |

Thank you for the info. One question; is a chopped down hull distinct from an intact one or is that a standard term for
an incomplete unit? Much thanks-AP |
here you go, two projects, one is mine and tuther is owned by a chap in Holland
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...rrier_002a.jpg (worste case scenario of being brutalised, most keep the center divider plate behind the driver....unlike mine :) ) and here is a one which sold for 14.750euro all be it mine is mk1 and this is mk2 you get the idea. mind that price for a project in my humble opinion is at the top end, but this one was very very very complete right down to the air cleaners etc etc. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...iecarrot/5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...iecarrot/6.jpg |
