International Harvester K series

Max Hedges owns this nice Inter and recently asked me to put these pics he took of it online.
It's a quite original and intact version of an attractive vehicle which would make a good project (not that it's for sale).
Can anyone furnish me with some more details of this type and it's Australian service?

Tasmaniacs

Here's one being used by the " TASMANIACS " . A group of musicians who toured the Islands . Note the Tasmanian state emblem on the side .

The K 3 and up seemed to have been made in large numbers . The small K1 and K2 variety are very rare in army guise . I have only seen one ex army K1 and a couple of K2 's over the years , fitted with the composite wooden framed cab . The K1/2 usually had a wooden body similar to the No. 1 GS as seen on early Aust. pattern CMP"s

Keith..
Post that picture of my old KB 2 that I did..
That was the last civilian KB2 built in Hamilton Ontario in '41 before the International plant went into war time production building half tracks...

Formation sign on inter

The formation sign on our inter appears to be a horse over the boomerang which is the Second Aust, Army sign, would anyone have any info on where they served, I believe it was formed in south eastern Australia.

Raised in 1942 by Lt Gen Ivan Mackay (Wasn't he a Brig in 6th Div in Middle East, Max?) did not serve outside Australia. It was based at Parramatta, NSW (Lancer barracks?). It had Permanent Forces staff (not AIF) and some militia units.
