Ford items for sale
 

I have recently swung a deal that demands a greater degree of scope management for my CMP restoration program - details later. Therefore, I am divesting myself of most things Ford. All prices are to be negotiated but be aware, if it is your intention to "flip" parts for higher resale, don't contact me.

Here is what I have for sale or trade:

13 Cab - in fair shape needs work on rear wall
Doghouse - in good shape
Front Clip - in good shape
Grill - in good shape
Front axle
Rear axle

F15 - most of the parts are there, but no rear tray/box. Needs work - of course, but a "doable" project. Some of the proceeds from the sale of this truck will go to MLU. Yes, it's that Ford... see: http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/sh...atest+treasure

Please note that I am located in Ottawa - I can arrange shipping but you must swallow the cost of shipping and handling (imagine the cost of shipping a cab to say, BC?).

Gee.... yet another Chev owner chickening out in the face of the challenges (and rewards!) of doing a Ford. Alas, the world is a sadder place this day... :sheep:

Myke, If by cut you mean shortened, I don't think so. I will verify this over the weekend. Or, Bob can chime in as he gave the Ford a good once over when we "got" it.

...at least in this neck of the woods. However, there seems to be some interest in the truck from "Ford" country...

It will take a lot of stamps!
 

PM sent. Shipping cost will be up there...do you want it bubble wrapped? I am sure that after Canada Post storage fees, it would be more economical to buy a restored Furd.

As for the small bits, not much kicking around, but send your list via these means, and maybe some folks will take the time out of their busy lives to help you spend your money.

The complete 1942? F15a offered by Rob has the unusual early heavy duty cast GM front axle with a Ford rear axle which makes it rather unique.

.... and I have a spare HD GM axle and other Ford power train parts that might be of some interest to the buyer. I will not sell my parts individually until we see where the F15a goes and what the potential buyer would need/want. Bottom line the parts are there to redo the F15a quite adequately...... of course some hard to find parts like the special Furd 6 inch foofoo pins are always missing and hard to find!!!!

It would be nice if the buyer was from Ottawa and opted to work with us at the barn....... I can dream can't I...?

Hi Jordan,

I can't tell the diff between a Chev and a Ford doghouse. In any case, the doghouse in the pic is up for sale or trade. I prefer a trade so if you are able to find four 6 bolt HUP rims in usable condition, we can work out a deal.

I've gotten a few emails asking questions about the Ford truck. Here are a few answers:

Does it have an engine? Yes, and it is almost complete (missing rad cap).
Does it run? It's a Ford, so no.
Does it turn over? I'll tell you next week when the snow is only two feet deep.
Are the rims original? Yes, but the rubber is civvy pattern.
What is missing? Other than the obvious missing external parts, not much less a seat and proper instrunment cluster.
Has anyone bid on it yet? Yes.
How much? Not enough. To be realistic, I am not looking for a fortune, but will accept he going rate for a truck of this nature. What is that - whatever the market will bear. I am more than willing to trade for a HUP or a lot of HUP parts.
Will you part it out? No. This truck needs to be restored given its unique nature and "history".
Why do you hate Fords? Don't. Just managing my scope.
What is the meaning of life? 47 and CMP...

Either a trial fit or one quick measurement will tell. Hopefully at least one of us will remember to get the answer for you next weekend, if not sooner.

That's clearly a Chev doghouse. You can tell because it has all those small doors which one needs to open frequently during driving. Why? That puny 216 needs constant fiddling, otherwise it doesn't get you anywhere! :D

Absoluletly correct Hanno...in fact I believe some Chev Dog houses have more than one access hole....quite interesting actually....certainly "other" manufactured vehicles did not need such accessablity.

Chevy nee a lot of access hole to work on it and a lot of maintenance not like the Ford that is a trouble free truck :teach:

Its usually easier when a ford drops it's bundle to just take the whole cab off because you know it's going to be a major self destruct and not something minor you can adjust through an access panel :D :D :devil:

What can you service through the round holes
 

Staying away from the FORD vs Chevy battle, owning only Chevy's though it would be interesting to comment on what you can service through the one/two round access panels on a Chevy engine cover. Not much, on the co-driver side the only use for the cover is to reach in for the block drain plug, useful if you are operating without antifreeze in below freezing temperatures. The drivers side round hatch as only one useful purpose to replace the number 6 and 5 spark plug leads that you pulled off in putting the cover over the engine. Now as to the doors they are a little more useful providing access to oil filler, and to the dip stick. Now think about it this was a major improvement over the Patter 11 & 12 cab design where it was necessary to go in the cab to check the level of the oil on the engine and then climb up onto the bumper open the access panel on the 11 or the hood on the 12 to add oil.

The only other use for the access panels and doors on the Chevy is to allow engine heat to escape into the cab. Now this is a useful feature in winter and I will admit to driving with both access doors open and the round covers removed when driving in very cold weather. (good reason not to have exhaust leaks)

Just wondering if that Chevy dog house is still available. I haven't found any HUP rims either.
