welding trailer

Does anyone know where I might find a surviving example of the

GAS WELDING TRAILER (cmp) that accompanied the kl machinery

lorry?

Hi Chris; By your post I assume that you also own a KL. I am in the resto mode on mine, and one day, when it 's semi- finished I will go on the hunt for the accompanying trl. If all else fails, I may sacrifice the chassis for my water trl and create my own from scratch.
Cheers, Bill

kl machinery pt 2

Bill, thanks for your note. And yes, I'm the owner of a 1942 KL.

It was purchased last year in reasonable condition, I will have it

road worthy this spring. If you decide to use your water trailer

as a donor chassis for a mock up welding trailer, let me know.

I am also the owner of a water trailer, searching for some

missing parts. I have had the same thought of using mine as

a donor too, but can't bear to, since it is in super condition and

almost complete. I will try to find another chassis to use but

still seek info. regarding details so as to reconstruct a fairly good

replica of the gas welding trailer. Keep in touch! Chris

Chris.
I have the Data sheet for the gas welding trailer, based on the 1/4 ton M100CDN trailer(Apr.1952)
It gives the specs, diamensions and plan layout with equipment stowage plan and list of equipment on it..
Is that the same as the CMP trailer..??
Don't know..
Contact me off line if interested..

welding trailer M100

Alex, unfortunately the Cmp gas welding trailer is unique unto
itself. I have original manual in my collection. Thanks

Hi Chris; Further to my last - Brian Gough was in town(Fredericton)for a short visit, and we spoke on the phone. He mentioned that we (you and I) are restoring the same veh. My KL as found was in shit -order- missing the welder and most of the EIS. The water trl was also the same, but most of the parts were there. In moments of temp insanity, I think about converting the water trl to a welding trl, but thankfully saner heads prevail. The only part I'm missing for the trl is one filter unit, plus a couple of minor brackets, which I will copy from the ones that are there. there are a couple of pics of my KL on Jeff Caldwell's site from last winter. I have made some progress since, and now am ready to start on the back deck(much welding) Keep in touch.
Cheers,Bill
