Signing over a truck with full kit

Hello All,

I was going through the Australian War Memorial site looking at photos when I cam across a very interesting one. The photo shows a Corporal doing the paperwork while one truck driver hands over the truck to a new driver. Spread over the ground is "the full Kit". Does any one know what the full kit would have been?

Also just under the bed are three boxes (ammo?) Is this type of set up standard on the truck beds?

Hi Lionel,

The three "boxes" are actually 2 gallon cans, used for petrol or water. The vehicle tool kits vary between types of vehicles, but can include tyre chains, grease gun, hand tools, wire cutter, machette, tow rope,, instruction books, funnel and jack.

Astonishing truck

Hello

The truck showed with it's tools kit seems to be a CANADIAN DODGE T110 D60 L5 because it's had single rear wheels. Nevertheless the truck seems very particular for the following reasons

1/ the body is not a canadian body and seems to have been builded in AUSTRALIA
2/ there is not the spare wheels under the front right body
3/ the large box behind the spare wheel missing has been replaced by a housing for fuel recipient
4/ the tyres seems to be oversized and larger than 1050 X 16
5/ the front mud guard seems to have been cut (as on FORD used by AUSTRALIAN ARMY) for oversized tyres.

I would like to know what you think about this truck ?

They really went to town on that one - not a lot left inside the cab with the dogbox, seats and, it looks like the two front sections of the floor removed :confused

That looks like 'UNZUD' on the doors (meaning it is in Na Zillun service)
