Hi all, I just thought I would share some pics of my new shed. I just finished it today and ofcourse it will be full of that old green house effect.

Shed
Excellent work as always Colin! Now you're going to have fun finding enough to fill it before starting on the next one. :note:

It looks great! How many does that make? We're doing one here. This is the one and only, and mine would probably fit inside the corner of yours, if it was squashed a bit. The two lower bits of the roof, are the house.
House = 101 sq.m., Shed = 252 sq.m., Total =353 sq.m. = One Very Tolerant Wife. We are on top of a hill, and the house looks north, out to sea |
I don't have very far to fill this one keith. That looks like beautiful country side lynn. I wanted to join my shed to the house but the wife said no, she must think I need the exercise. :fry:

No matter how big you build them they are never big enough My last shed was 7mx11m (too small) I now have a small block a little further out of town and built a shed 18mx16m and funny enough within 6 months it was too small too  |
Shed
Hi Colin,
The shed looks great. I particularly like the high skylights. What are its dimensions and is it commercially available? Graeme |
hi graeme, my shed is 24 x 9 x 4.2 at the eaves. This is not a commercial shed, I fabricated it myself but you are more than welcome to a set of calcs for the council.
regards Colin. |
This may be pushing it
Colin
Tony from Ganmain, Ive observed some of your projects with amazement (and mixed with considerable amount of envy at times). The shed is appears to be another testament at your skill. I hope your lousy at tennis or something to make me feel better!!! You said you had plans for this shed, I am about to embark on the process of building a shed (council approvals etc) I was wondering what your may have cost if that's not too rude a question to ask. Perhaps a private message to either tell me to get lost or just return some general abuse is fine. :no4: |
Edumacation
Tony, Colin builds these sheds for a living so he knows what he's about. I've visited Colin (you can meet him at Corowa next year) and he is not only a shed builder but an amazing restorer of vehicles as well.

Colin - extraordinaire!
:note:
Keith, believe me I know. :bang: Ive looked with awe at some of Colins extraordinary feats on Carriers, fabricating parts from designs on paper. As I said I'm extremely envious of his skill.. Would appreciate an intro if I havent frightened Colin off with my obnoxious style of thread replies........ |
Sheds
Thats a very generous offer Colin. Will send you a PM.

Thankyou all for your very kind words, I,m sure we can all surprise ourselves with self achievement and simply "give it a go" except for tennis, footy, soccer, basketball, etc, etc, etc. I,m hopeless.
As far as the shed is concerned, it cost me about $20,000 with floor, but I had no labour cost and some of the materials were leftovers. I would estimate a shed like that would be around $50k -$55k to have done. ( I am extremely fortunate to be in the trade) But if you can weld and have the facilities to do it, you would save at least $10k-$15k. You are very welcome to a set of engineer calcs which will save you $2.5K for a start. PM me if you want my private ph number. I will help anyway I can. regards Colin. |
