Howdy all,

Still at Max's doing some interesting work more on that later. At the moment Max would like to know where all the dust is coming from as we are in the middle of a very bad dust storm.

See Photos

Howard is Max pinching all our topsoil again ??? :(

sand from the African Sahara

Hi Tony

The sand is probably from the Sahara :yappy: We do sometimes have here in Switzerland sand on our cars (I'm not joking), very thin and powdered. The cars get a nice khaki sprayed color. I guess the sand has been travelling thousands of kms just to see some snow

Good to read that Max found his "personal slave no2" You're in my footsteps of doing & experiencing things you would never do anywhere else. What about drenching, fencing, tractor driving, haying and getting hayfever, taking Tassie on a quadbike-ride etc :D More action pics please :no4:

Wow, the countryside looks very green. You must have had some good showers.

Greetings from autumnly Switzerland
Chris

We're only a little more than a week away from the Deni Ute Muster, so it must be someone "crankin' it up furious" and practicising some Circle Work, with AC/DC playing Thunderstruck on the stereo. :drunk:

The dust here has been pretty amazing, and only arrived about 6 hours after Tony's post said it was in Yass, so the winds can't have been that strong! The place looks like Pompeii today.

Where's the dust coming from?

We had 90-100km winds yesterday and into the night , we don't know where the dust is coming from...cause we don't have any left! :whinge

Embarrassed

Geez Phil, that makes my pictures look pretty lame :giveup

Apologies to the entire community of Broken Hill for complaining about what now looks as if it could have come out of a very dirty Vacuum cleaner..

Tony, should we leave notes have your mortal remains cast in plaster of paris in about 1000 years?

Ganmain Tony 23-09-09 12:06

Oh I forgot

Bt the way Tony...sensational pics of the circle work. Ill bet the side wacker was making great noise!!! :thup2:

Sydney Dust Storm

I listen to Sydney radio at work (online) and yesterday morning the breakfast shift team were bitching about the dust. News buletins were full of advice about not breathing it in, taking precautions, etc etc.
So I sent them this e-mail:
"Dear Jonsey & Amanda, and all in Sydney,
Don't worry about the dust storm, it's OK. Here in Wagga Wagga we are doing our bit to help you. We are throwing cement powder up into the air, so that by the time it gets to Sydney it is well mixed, Go outside, breathe it in, and HARDEN UP!"
Thankfully they did not take offence and even read it out. They thought I was implying that they were being a bit woosie. Do you think?
