George has kindly asked me to host some pictures he sent me of his MV collection, as you will see it is a collection to be jealous of for sure !!! some real weird mods which folk have done to a few of the carriers, none the less an awesome group of Mv's my favourite none carrier being the Ford truck, which is on my wish list :)

I seriously love these trucks, i have a picture of my grandads RSF mates stood in front of one not sure if its ford or chevy on that pic though.

lower hull number 10128 which is only three away from mine !!! strangly under the layers of paint on mine, my carrier was the same red too.

I noticed the Carrier with steel grouzers on every other link, Now those are well worth thier weight in gold. Thinking bought selling a few George?. I believe in one of the pics I can't find what you mean Richard of being a wasp carrier. Great Pic's Cheers Aidan

first post sixth picture down also the picture above it has a similar hole cut but its way more crude than the green tub (sixth pic)

I see It now Richard thanks , I notice alot of carrier tubs had square holes cut in them on bottom right gunners back plate. I wonder what they did that for??? Cheers Aidan

Thank's for posting the pictures .The one with the wood armament !! is just about all there but for the tracks It has the square hole about 6"x8" with metal riveted around it .One of the MK2s has a hole torched out .The one by the Diamond T has the grousers on the tracks for going on the ice .It was one of the MK1s, hull #10407 that Grordon Prio"s dad had to go to Yellow Knife .The tractor is a RCAF Fordson that hauld feul to the bombers in UK ..It can go over 30 MPH .I have not found another one like it .I have enough to complete a MK1&2 ,the Fordson, two CMPs ,a halftrack .8 ton lowboy ,DT969 wrecker ,only one left with the Canadian cab ,and a motorcycle .If any of you fellows have some SPARE TIME give me a call . Gosh I can't be the only one with no spare time .well back to work !!

I should add that the first two pictures are not my carrier .It belongs to Gary Bath in FT ST John It was posted to show the hole that was cut behind the gunners seat . George

Thanks for clarifying that, I thought I was goin crazy seeing my truck and carriers under your post....lol, I like your collection, I just wish I had the space you have, if you look close in the first pic you can see the blue tarp covering the carrier in my driveway, the c60 is beside the main carrier in the pic and my c15 is in the garage to the right of the carrier. My wife says no more till I get one running lol.

Good picking out those grousers..I have never seen them on carrier track before and can't remember seeing them in the parts manual..But I wonder if they are homemade??..not an impossibility..Interesting..
maybe Ledsel has some info on them..He ran them as a kid in the bush..maybe..??

Yup they are home installed. They are actually cleats for horse shoes that you weld on. They work great but make it a little harder to steer. We had them on one of my dads carriers years ago. I have a few links here. I'll see if I can get a picture of them. :p

Yes there home made, my father removed the tracks and welded everyone of those cleats on so he could get better traction travelling cross the lakes. I believe this is the only U/C of the four that he did this with, which is the one George has.

Here is a picture of our back yard in 1947, looks like the setting for an invasion or a wrecking yard !
