Doodle-bugs

WW2 pictures, 1945, George R. Carver, Canadian Seaforth, guarding the compound. Amsterdam.
The remote-controlled German "doodle-bug tanks". These had 3 compartments. 1 each for explosives, battery, and electric motor. Compound in Amsterdam.

The "doodle-bug" name was first used by James S. MacDonell for a new type monoplane with slats and flats. Flew 2700 miles in 1929-30.

The Germany's V-1 flying bomb was called variously a doodle-bug, buzzbomb and flying bomb. Not to be confused with the remote-controlled doodle-but tank.

From my Smithers, BC Remembrance Week display.
