Sigh

Aah, so tempting, but too much preoccupied with my other 101" FC aka HUP. Have to be content with the Series III 109" ...

This vehicle is still for sale. new canvas on hand for the new owner.

Vehicle is dry stored.

Was originally asking $13,500 but the owner, a mate of mine who is away and asking me to sell it, will take offers.

Located near Kingston, available for test drive to potential purchasers.

The owner is sick of looking for a good home and paying for storage. he is threatening to scrap it next week.

While I don't want to see it die that is the likely home for it as emotions are involved.

He paid for it and shipped it from the UK and had lots of work done and many trials and tribulations. He is now in the Navy and lives down east and no storage for it there.

I have advertised it high and low but nary a taker.

So pn tuesday he and I will meet. I want to buy it but have not even a brass farthing to buy it but its in my care and custody with storage paid until winter.

What do I offer him and get a loan for dollar wise?

The man is going to feel insulted if I offer him $400 scrap money or less but considering it isn't a runner and i've sat looking after it for a few years . ..

$1,500 is what my mate and I came to as a value, cheap enough to make it worth repairing and using and sorting out.

I'm really stuck on what to do.

Thoughts?

Hello is this in Australia? :confused

chris vickery 28-07-13 03:45

Robin $1500 is better than the scrap value he would realise if he is serious about scrapping it. I could never figure out the emotional side of vehicle ownership. It is a tool. Useful to some, useless to others. To be cross about a vehicle to the point of throwing away money never made sense to me. Take advantage of the situation, if you don't someone else will.

3 parties have expressed interest. Ridiculous to the sublime.

The offers are being pondered. Decision expected in next 24 hours on who will be new owner.

Isn't Kingston on Jamaica?

Robin Craig 05-08-13 20:41

Kingston Ontario Canada currently, but for the right money can be Kingston Jamiaca or Kingston Uk.

Sold LR FCC 101

Spoke with Robin and the Land Rover has found a new home with the Merrickville Motorpool, we are just waiting to pick the vehicle up and add it to the collection.

Just to put a close to this thread, as I like happy endings.

The truck was sold to Gilles but hiccup in comms protocol ended up seeing me owning it and not Gilles.

Currently undergoing a bit of a tidy up slowly
