Thank you for the link as it has been a while since I tinkered with engines - more years than I care to remember. I was hoping that there was something practical out there in webland that could align some brain cells again. The Boxwrench people have site to the DVDs http://store.boxwrench.net/Basic-Eng...g-DVD_p_8.html. The cost of the DVD on engine rebuilding seems quite reasonable. Yes, the guys sure do make things look so easy! It would be fun to have them make a video about starting work on a truck that has not ticked over for decades and see how easy they find that! "Here we are with a truck that has been sitting out in all the elements for twenty years. But first I have to get to the engine. It shouldn't be that hard a task ..." Kind Regards Lionel |
Engine Assembly Looks Easy
Hi Lionel
Yup the video makes engine reassembly look easy, particularly with a nice clean set of parts, in a clean well lighted shop. What I wonder about every time I'm trying to reassemble and engine or gear box is how the heck did they guys do this out in the desert or in a muddy open air repair area? Next time I disassemble and reassemble a CMP motor I'll have to do a time lapse photo record. Cheers Phil |

It will appear in the next Corowa DVD, YOTB II, out March 2010. Unfortunately it doesn't cover the complete engine rebuild, just getting it going out in the field. |
