Looks like one of the three-tonner machinery boxes, but the window spacing is all wrong (unless one or more have been cut into it over the years). Hard to tell without measurements, though... and no data plate I gather.

Could it be an early M-series box?

I'm pretty certain this is for the M series 2-1/2 tonner as a dental/machinery/office body.

Do you remember the fabricating shop just before the regional sanding/salting depot....... that is where that box is located...... I think they are shutting down the business and converting to trailer storage.....

I have looked at it before..... it has M 37 type tail lights....... probably from an early Deuce truck..... office type I believe...... would need a lot of TLC.... and a big truck to put it on.....

There is also...

...one in Acton right at the crossroads. Been there for 30 years. Off a deuce M211. Didn't they get called a "Gin Palace"? Good for storage of parts. Not much else.

I scoped out that 211 box in Acton several times. Full of junk, very poor shape, IMO not worth salvaging.

"Gin Palace" was a term used in the Signal Corps specifically for the 15 cwt WIRE 5 radio vehicles. By the time we got M152s and deuce 209/211s, the term had fallen into disuse.

Pity. :drunk:
