The 6 Inch guns of the Fort, still facing towards the ocean. It was from here the Japanese submarine was shelled when Newcastle was attacked back in 1942.

Singlton played a pivitol role in training during WW2, and today is the home to the School of Infantry.

Here we are standing near a Universal Carrier (Australian made). Thts me in the centre.

This museum has one of the best Small Arms collections in the southern hemisphere. Many are war prizes.

By the way, this carrier still runs too!

Should any of you make it out this way, this region is called the Hunter Valley, and is well known for its wineries, etc, so to keep your wives happy when you come out for a visit.

Its really nice, and well worth the trip thru the wineries.
