What is it?

Here a two items. Can someone I.D. them for me please?
The first item is steel, with a rubber insert, and is numbered TL1308___ It appears to have been broken off. The second item is leather, and shows both sides of a similar item. This could be from a riveted carrier, or an Aust pattern carrier, or even from a CMP. They look to have straps broken off. Thanks in advance. |

Lynn,
That Leather item I would say is the remains of one of these, Bren Gun Grab Bag. They appear quite often overhere and have a TL number imposed on them, designed to be held in the rear of a british carrier by the metal strap on a Mk2. Did They make these in Canada also? |

Kevin and Jordan
Thanks guys.
Kevin, Jordan's is as this one is. When I went to see how good the rubber was, it was felt, like Jordans. the circle is backed by a piece of felt, of a similar thickness. I don't think you've hit on the right thing with the leather thing. Its 7 1/4 inches long by 3 1/4 inches wide, and has probably shrunk. The leather is quite thick, and the strap that is broken off, comes from the opposite side,at the other end, and goes in the same direction that the existing strap, tongue points. (when the whole lot is flattened out) I'm guessing this because the pieces riveted on are all clean cut except the one, which is torn. It has a single row of stitch holes around its perimeter. |
