"FOR SALE IS THIS INLINE 8 CYLINDER ROLLS ROYCE ENGINE I FOUND IN A SHED I AM CLEANING I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT BUT IT TURNED OVER BY HAND IT HAS COMPRESSION, AND A FLUID CLUTH IT LOOKS LIKE THE ONLY THINK MISSING IS A GENERATOR ,THIS MOTOR HAS BEEN IN A SHED FOR YEARS WITH COVERS OVER IT AS YOU CAN SEE ALL THE INLETS AND PIPES HAVE COVERS ON THEM SO THE ENGINE HAS BEEN SEALED FROM DUST AND WATER.THE MOTOR IS A B80 / ENGINE# 2425"


Mind you B80 crate motors are readily available for (I think) $4500

What were these engines in lads? Anything military?

Saracen but can be modified to suit Saladin :thup2:

Alvis Saracen, Saladin, Stalwart, Salamander
GKN TRojan, Vickers Abbot
Leyland Martian
Thornycroft Nubian, LightMobile Digger(Trench)
various Douglas specialist vehicles
Vauxhall/Albion 3 & 5 ton truck
aaand Centurion ARV as a winch drive.

Australian uses probably only Saracen & Saladin, Martian, a few Nubians and the two(?) ARV's.

There are quite a few of these engines around, cheap as chips compared to the original price. Do love a good drink though.
