help with markings
5 Attachment(s)
with alot of careful scraping and sanding i uncoverd these bumper markings and one on the hood, red or white square then yellow cicle the numbers on blue/red then number 15 on blue/red . the oldest marks are the yellow circle and number 15 and the hood yellow circle, the rest are on top of many paint layers.
also wondering about the white square on back end tucked way up out of the way? does this tell us anything about this truck , is there any original pictures out there? any help would be more than i know now , thanks Anthony |
the yellow on the bumper is a bridge sign , the rear cover of the axle goes all white for black out lamp, get the book armoured acorn or visit the web site it should help you a lot, http://www.armouredacorn.com/

the white square may be to help you
keep your distance when driving with blackout lights.
square disappears, you're too close.. |
The markings are, I believe, for 15 fd regiment, which is out of Vancouver. The markings were more of a 50s and 60s thing, so it's possible that the vehicle was VMOd from the west to Saskatchewan during it's service life. You could try the CFR number on the CFR information requests thread and see if any history exists in the system for it.
