just wondering on the old ford where the numbers are located , doesnt look like there are any plates missing on the dash.It is very complete even the seat covers are still there.
The other pics are the restore project line up around the farm . Anthony |
Wow!
What a stunner!
Don't often see anything as good as this even down under. :smoker: http://www.class-five.com/~mlu/forum...4&d=1275971472 |
Nice Example
That would have to be the best unrestored cab 11 that I have seen. More pix please! :thup2:

The serial number should be stamped on the side of the frame rail under the passengers door. It's the same as the number on the engine and transmission if they're original.
Somebody must have been hauling wide loads to put the mirrors out on the fenders like that. Now we'll all be able to ask you what a cab 11 should or shouldn't have on it!! Awesome find. |

Hope you will drag it home.....
Very good surviving example......
....do not over look the other cab 13 for parts..... even if it is a Chev..... I would be interested to see what kind of axles are underneath that cab 11..... Ford split or GM axles.... we have a Ford at the barn that has both GM axles one with GM shocks and the front with Ford shocks on a GM axle.... ..... on the Chev cab 11 the vehicle tags are on the driver's side of the engine cover...... Ford may be the same....... to my knowledge only the Ford had serial numbers stamped on the frame...... show us more pictures of the cab 11 if you can....rear ...side... inside... and underneath BooB |

Here's where the data plate attaches. Bob's right about Fords being the only ones with the number stamped in the frame and that's only on the 11 and 12 cabs.

Cmp trailer

pass door numbers z452-288 ,is this a crf #?
no place for a number plate on the drivers side above lube plate. The only add ons are some overload rear springs , mirors, engine might not be original because the oil filler is on the front of engine not on rear . |

I made it out to dads farm last week and had a look at the cab 11 to see what axles it has and it does have GM axles front and rear.
Was this common for this time period? Anthony |

Stampings
The Australian cab 13 Fords are mostly stamped on the frame either on the vertical or top face of the frame on the drivers side. If it's on the top as most are it is almost impossible to see without taking the splash shield off.

Good example of wartime make - do.....
Certainly worth restoring and keeping the original GM axles...... quite common to see a GM Heavy Duty cast front axle with a regular Ford split axle on the rear.
When you have a look again ...see if the front axle has a bolted cover on the axle or cast in one piece with heavy reinforcement ribs near the spring perch. Strange to see Ford shock absorbers attched to GM axles..... That Ford truck has exceptionally good sheet metal...... Bob C. |
