15-cwt GS Bodies 2A1 and 2B1

Hi there

Like the British examples they were patterned on, these bodies were fitted with sides that were hinged so the top half could be folded down.

Any ideas why this was done?

Van bodies did not have this feature.

When you open the endgate and fold the sides down it sure makes it easier to load heavy stuff.
The Van-1 was a 2A1 and the Van-2 was a 2B1 and as such had the fold down sides.

G'day Steve,

Is there any chance of posting some photos showing what you wrote about like sides that were hinged so the top half can fold down? Thank you.

Kind Regards
Lionel
