Rick's Carriers
Hi my name is Rick and I live in Sydney Australia and I am new to the forum. I am interested in carriers and have been since I was 10 and I saw my first carrier at a place called Casula Wreckers in Sydney, and now in my 40's am still interested and I have collected a few carriers along the way. I own a LP1 in running order, an LP2A under restoration and recently purchased a 2 attack carrier in running order. When I get a bit better at using this program I will post some photos.
Regards Rick |
Hello Rick,
Welcome aboard. We would all love to see photo's of your Carrier. If you have trouble posting them ask a 15 year old. They are way better in these things. That's what I usually do the first time.... Cheers, Marc |
Welcome Rick
Hi Rick. Have you lurked here long?
Now that you have busted your posting cherry you'll never look back. Look forward to seeing your carriers and hearing about your efforts to aquire them. Welcome to MLU. Regards Ryan |
Hi Rick,
Welcome to MLU. We are glad that you have found us as this site is the best out there. We are certainly looking foward to your photos and I'm sure that Salesman Bob will want the details of your carriers for his data base. Regards Rick. |
Welcome Rick. He has been an attendee at Corowa for a few years. Hope you are feeling better than you were last month.

I regret to inform you that there is no known cure for The Green Disease (TGD). You'll have to tough this so-called sickness on your own. But your friends and fellow TGD sufferers will support you along the way.

They're bloody terrific.
Have I got it correct that the scaffolding is being used to support the shed frame while you use the block and tackle? Handy idea. Ryan |
yes i used the scoffolding to put the shed frames up and then used it to lift out the engine and gearbox form the Lp2a.
|
thank you for the welcome i have post some photos of my carriers today with the help of my 8 year old daughter.

Here you go. I took these pics last May at the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum. Didn't know then that these 2 carriers belong to Rick. Greetings Chris |

... and here some pics of the Anti Tank Carrier. She was stuck in 3rd gear, therefore the gearbox was opended "in the field" and repaired. She drove afterwards beautifully.

Hi Chris, thanks for the pics. I really like the LP1, what a great looking carrier. How many LP1's are there left in existence running or not ? David.

Hi Dave,
here are some more photos of the interior for you to look at. I know of 3 LP1's that are in running order in Australia and there are some old cut down hulls that have turned up lately. Regards Rick. |

with the three bogie track like the Universal..rather than the four bogie track of the T-16.. Interesting.. And damned pretty..nice job on both of them.. :remember :kangaroo :sheep: :drunk: |
LP pics
Excellent thanks Rick, must be nice to own and drive a rare piece of Australian history. What do you prefer to drive steering wise, skid or warp steering. I suppose with these machines in North Africa they must have been hard on the brakes and hubs. Also could you tell me what the tool is that is mounted on the rear of the storage boxto the rear drivers side please. look a bit like calibers. Thanks David.
|
Hi Dave It's good to be one of 3 LP1's in running order in Australia at the moment. I prefer to drive the stick steering than the warp steering it is much easier with the stick like power steering.
Regards Rick |
Rick's Images
Hi Rick - welcome. I am aware of Rick's Carriers and am indebted to him to providing me with a lot of Carrier images that appear on my website. I have yet to put a bibliography on the site but Rick will feature.
