This is my very own jeep. My husband is only allowed to fix it. Carolle

It is a M38A1; not A2, Carolle

Goodyears. Interesting, as they no longer appear in any of the North American Goodyear catalogues. They are also 7.5 x 16 vice 7 x 16. Any idea where the previous owner got them?

Try sending a PM to Tom McFee and ask him. Gilles

Those tires were on it when I bought it last October. The fellow I bought it from had them put on around 89/90 when he bought it surplus. Neat tires, good in the muck.

While in Kandahar airfield the last couple of winters, I noted that many trucks there have the GoodYear heavy grip 7.50-16 bias ply tires on them. I guess they are still being made somewhere, although whether they have approval on this continent is another story.

Personally, I use the non-directional tires on my jeep but I do not use it once the snow flies. They were suicide tires once the roads got icy.

To thrown more gas on the fire, my M38A1 parts Jeep came with combat tires and commercial rubber. One is a Goodyear SUBURBANITE 3-ply 6.5 x 16 made in Canada. For those who know the codes, this one is 3-T. The other tire is a BF Goodrich Trailmaker Silvertown 4-ply 6.00 x 16. These are mounted on M38A1 and CJ-3 rims, and are there for moving the chassis around not for running on the roads.
