1941 Ford

Hi there

Interesting front wheels on the Ford. They remind me of the ones fitted to the Ford/MH 4x4 gun tractors, but are slightly different.

Current Driver

I think I have helped produce a military vehicle fanatic here Kieth at 20 months old he already steers the ride on mower around. When I pick Flynn up from child care and get him home he doesnt want to play in the sandpit he plays in the Weapons Carrier. When his had enough Dodge its time to feed and water the horses and goats this can only be achieved by taking out the topless series one Land Rover.
I get told to sit in my seat, turn it on, choke and press it (start button).
Ah well you might call me a pushy parent or a pushover but I brought home an F 15 A for him.

Great truck

Max well done at finding this truck. I have just imported to Scotland 2 of these trucks and one later G8T which are being restored. I will be interested to hear how you are getting on.

18 inch combat rims ?

Hi guys, I used to own a similar unrestored one when I was in NSW, but it had large 18 inch combat rims ?

Or was it a heavier capacity vehicle ?

There is a similar complete one here in Perth in a scrapyard which caught my eye only because of the roof hatch for the LAAMG.

Cheers

Those damn 18" wheels again

Heavy-duty 18" wheels were a valid factory option for all these Fords, which is how my MH-Ford got a set of 8.25 x 18s on it.

I've seen at least one where they had been binned and replaced with 20" wheels because you can't get a decent range of 18" tyres now.

odd front wheel

The tyres on the old girl are 20 inch but that front one has only 2 holes in the rim instead of 6 holes. It is a dunlop TE 22711 wheel which I have no idea what the numbers mean or what the wheel originally came off.We intend to use the truck for spares another one for the tunnel.

Farming

Hey Max have you ever thought of growing mushrooms in those tunnels of yours? You could use all the truck trays that are lined up end to end as growing beds.
