**** RESCHEDULED AND MOVED - MJCQ Canungra Swap Meet & Field Day 2010 ****

Yes it is on again! Just a reminder that the Military Jeep Club of Queensland's annual get-together at Canungra, Queensland Australia is rapidly approaching and will be held from 15-17 October 2010. Some people arrive early in the week because it's a beautiful place to camp and chill out for a while, pre-registration is not required.

Held at the Canungra Showgrounds up in the hills of the Gold Coast hinterland, it just keeps getting bigger and better every year. Last year we had quite a number of interstate and some overseas visitors too.

This year the special event is for WWII GMC vehicles so if you have one, please bring it even if it is a running wreck.

Friday: Arrival and Setup / Military Vehicle Run / Sausage sizzle / Tech night

Saturday: Various HMV runs / Static displays / Grand Parade / Ladies Run / Running wrecks / 2-course Dinner + videos and WWII unusual object displays (prizes awarded)

Sunday: 6am Swap Meet / Judging / Grand Parade / Prizes awarded

More information including a PDF flyer at the MJCQ website: http://www.mjcqinc.com/MJCQSwap2010.html

I cant wait!!!

We caught up with Hiro in Topeka this year by chance!- apparently he and several friends are coming over from Japan this year too!

I assume your going Steve? possibly John W? Of course Jeff (wheely bin) Gordon would be going!

Who else from MLU will be going?

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian, great to hear you're going to be here again! Do you know if the Victorians are coming? I will certainly be there, hopefully bringing down a Weasel to travel through to John's place.
I don't think Jeff will ever live down the wheelie bin incident :)

Flooding rain!!!!

Ah just tell the whole world, Ian Pooh Bear Fawbert about my wheelie bin!

For those not in S.E Qld and haven't seen the news we have just had record breaking flooding rain and more predicted for the weekend.
Tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) 4pm we have a meeting on site with the Canungra grounds committee to have a look at the site and make a decision.
I will post the outcome as soon as I can tomorrow night.
Watch this space!
Cheers
Jeff

Hi Everyone

Unfortunately due to the extreme weather experienced at the Gold Coast area the Canungra Show Society have asked us not to come this weekend.

They fear that vehicles will become bogged due to the extremely wet ground! The committee has seen the grounds and agree.

There will be a free sausage sizzle at the Club House Rocklea Showgrounds from 3pm on Saturday 16th October.

The Club run to the Vintage Motor Bike Museum at Black Soil (just west of Ipswich on the highway) will start from the Club House Rocklea Showgrounds meeting at 8am to leave 9am Sunday 17th October.

The Swap Meet & Field weekend will be held at Emu Gully Helidon on 3rd 4th 5th December 2010. Further details later.

Don Smith for the Management Committee.

Pity but...

...you'll be able to bring all your swap meet goodies down to Corowa in March!
