Airborne 75mm pac ammo
Does anybody know if the US built Airbourn 75mm Pack as used by the airbourn in Arnhem used the same ammo as the 75mm tank gun which is a fairly straight case.

M1A1 75mm Pack Howitzer
Did you try doing an online search to see if the information that you are looking for has been posted?

Thanks , i had done some research on the matter but knowing how much brain power there is on the MLU forum i thought i would ask the question for conformation.

75mm Ammunition
What did you find?
|
Nope, used shorter rounds
The 75mm howitzer ammo was approximately 23.5" long. The regular 75mm rounds for the M2 and M3 tank guns was 26.29" long (APC), 26.6" (HE), 26.63 (white phosphorus), and 20.26" (smoke).
So, the answer would be no. Link with some photos: http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/17894 http://www.usarmymodels.com/AFV%20PH...0Howitzer.html Cheers Anthony |
