Chevy fuel vacuum line routing?
 

I am completing the restoration of a 216 chev for a 1943 HUP and am puzzled about where the fuel pump to carb and distributor to carb lines ran. Do they go around the front still or did they route them over the center of the valve cover? Thanks all.

The line runs from the dizzy forward then up under the thermostat housing, around the front then back along the steel fuel line to the carby.
Also your line from the oil filler goes to the carby as well but usually up over the rocker cover.

The $100K question is still where does it go? The carb has no port for it.

If you have a Carter carby the dizzy inlet is about one inch up from the base on the side facing towards the engine. Look near the air adjustment screw.
Same goes for a Stromberg or even the Rochester.
Do you have the right carby?

The one on my car runs on TOP of the thermostat housing; there is a little metal clip that holds it to the housing.

Also, there are clips that hold the fuel line and vacuum line together. These clips are available from some restoration sites.

Thanks Dave. My concern about the civilian version as shown in your picture is that there was interferrance with the front mounted throttle linkage and that they rerouted around it on the CMP versions.
