Need help with Morris commercial
I am a member of the Kapunda Historical Society in South Australia.
Amongst the many vehicles we have is a 1927/8 Morris commercial powered by a 4 cylinder motor. We often take it out and on it last drive the clutch plate failed. Efforts to locate one have met with no success and I am hoping that someone can steer us in the right direction. Regards and many thanks Col |
:blink:a morris Commercial:ergh:  :(
You poor lads:D Col wish you luck finding one. If anyone can help it is probably Mike Kelly :) |
Col
Have you taken the remains to a brake shop?
Usually you need to check; 1 the spigot beating. 2. the thrust bearing. 3. the clutch plate. and, 4. the pressure plate. If you just need the clutch plate, take it into the brake shop. It usually comes down to the dia. the thickness, and the spline. I imagine the morry comical has a carbon thrust, and if the clutch is past it , then the pressure plate will need attention as well. Take it all with you, and find the guy behind the counter who shows the most interest. Let us know how you get on. |
1927 Morris Commercial
Hello Col,
I have a manual for 12cwt & 1 ton 4 cyl. trucks printed in 1927. It shows the clutch running in oil with 2 driven plates using corks for friction material. Is this the same as your one? Regards, Terry |
I will check with our mechanic and find out more.
She is a typical english old lady but it seems a shame to park her. Will revert when I get more info Thank you all very much. Col |
