Hi All

Was wondering how many people can identify what CMP part this looks like? And have you found a source for it? Did it work?

Don't worry I'll tell you whose catalog I found it in. Once you here where and what it was used for you will understand how it found its way on to CMPs.

Cheers Phil

Does it replace a window related part?

It looks like a dodge flat screen hinge section. Are lengths of this available?

Name the part

Looks a little like the drip gutter over the door opening on 13 cabs.

Looks like....

... the top part of a cab 13 windshield frame.... one part attached to the roof slides inside the other on the top frame and become the hinges for opening the windshield....

My money is on the windscreen frame hinge too!

I'll have a stab, I'm going with a top windscreen hinge off cab 13 but I'm still wearing "L" plates with these jiggers.

You got it windshield hindge

Thought it would be fun to see how long it would take to nail it. Even with the parts shown not in the position they fit together.

Yes they appear to be the same profile as the hinge at the top of the windshield on the Pattern 12 and 13.

Yes they are currently available from MAC http://macsautoparts.com/early-v8-in...0R3CHL1074003/

40-16630/1
Inner Hood Hinge - Steel - 31-1/4" Long $39.75 PAIR

Now my next question has anybody actually used them to repair/replace CMP windshield hinge?

Once you see that they are the hinge from the inside of the hood of 1933-1936 their use on CMPs makes real sense, Ford/Chevy or some supplier had the dies and jigs on the shelf. Which fits the gist of what Side Shallow said about the design of the first CMPs they were grabbing parts off the shelf that they already knew how to make.

I think I'll drop MACs a e-mail to day see if I can get the dimensions of the lip.

When I fabricated a new windshield assembly for my Patter 12 this was one of those hard to find parts, a similar hinge was also used on Jeeps and M Series but at the time I couldn't find a source new stock anywhere. Ended up us bits from about 4 different M Series.

Identify the source of this part?

Hello All,

Not wanting to make a new thread I figure I might divert this one a wee bit. There is a known part that is from an unknown source. The part looks like a fuel tank switch cover. The person selling it would like someone to identify what it is off.

No it is not me selling it. I am hoping someone from our group might see the very thing they are after. The person asks .... If anyone recognises what vehicle please let me know ! New Old Stock, says "Gas Tank Switch, Main and Aux. Thought it may have been Blitz or Dodge but have not been able to confirm that

I figure where else but here might someone answer the question?
