Does anyone know what this might be? I have another one for you, I found this little item and thought it was cool, the tag says it is serviceable I just need to figure out what to plug it into and why.

I think I had one of these for a centurian. The periscope was actually CFR stamped to the tank. I can try and look up the NSN tomorrow at work, but I am pretty sure it will be obsolete now.
|
I looked up the NSN and it did not give any information. The number went obsolete in 1984 which would kind of fit in with the replacement of the centurian in 78 . This would includie the usual lagtime for the supply system to react to the removal of the Cebturian, especially back in those pre-computerised days.
Perhaps I will have more luck when I get back home in July. I have the old microfiches from the early 80s, so it should have a description. |
That little red and corrosion object is a Danish M1 Garand BFA.

There is another tread on the Sight Periscopic A.F.V. No1., MK.4.

Thanks
Thanks guys, it looks like I bought myself a 10 of BFA's.
John.. I checked that post and yes it is a periscope for a centurian, now to find out what the power cable is for and how to get it powered up. Rob, thanks for all the research your doing, I will wait till you get back in july. Are you a supply guy or do you have access to someone that can look this stuff up? Gary |
I am not supply, but the cdn government catalogue is pretty standard stuff for most people in the military trades. Hard to look up parts without it.
