Return of the Tabacco pouch

Yesterday at Anzac Day in Sydney Charlie returned the tabacco pouch from a fallen mate at Templeton Crossing in 1942.

The story started last year when a relative of Harold Webber, the digger that was killed in New Guinea, contacted my sister after seeing a photo at the War Memorial in Canberra with Harold and my father in it. The relative is a neice of Harolds and she made contact with us by phone just to find a little bit more out about Harold, she was very surprised to hear that we had a tabacco pouch here that belonged to her uncle, it was arranged to return the pouch after nearly 69 years to the family at a battalion reunion after the march in Sydney.
