I picked up a Charging Set No.2 1260 watts at the weekend expecting it to be similar to the JAP and Petter sets I recently recently purchased but made by Villiers.

What I found was a set with the following Plate.

Charging Set 1260 Watts No.2
ONAN
WD Serial Number 24
1940
British Motor Boat MFG CO Ltd
ZB0135

I am assuming this company were importing ONAN Sets and putting their own plates on them.

Can any one supply any aditional informarion?

Derek

I found the thread your link directs to but I could not find any more specific to my generator. There are however pages of threads on ONAN's to look through.

This generator is not the Tank version which is no larger than the Canadian 300 watt set.

This is something I assume they were buying in prior to Lend Lease.

Now confirmed as the generator for the Low power version of the Bedford QL Radio Truck and Canadian equivalent.

Also listed as the alternative for the High Power version.

This generator is available for sale or exchange for other British war-time generators.
