GeoCities websites

Like many other users of GeoCities, I was very sad to see they discontinued their service back in 2009. Since then, a number of my web pages were preserved by at http://www.archive.org

But today I found another site, http://www.geocities.ws/, which apparently managed to save many geocities.com websites, and even enables their users to update the old pages.

So for your reference, here are my old GeoCities websites:I know other MLU members used to have GeoCities sites too, so how about trying to see if it was saved and post the new link here?

Hi Hanno

Good to see your priceless information is online again. Hope you made a backup with a tool like "HTTrack Website Copier" etc.

If you need some free webspace, I got plenty left at www.zimmerliweb.ch. Address would be something like zimmerliweb.ch\hanno

Greetings
Chris

Chris,

I still have the original html files which I uploaded onto Geocities. Will check if I can get extra webspace at my current provider, otherwise I will get back to yoiu.

Thanks!

Hanno

And here is Mike Kelly's Morris-Commercial website: All a bit garbled up, but still hanging around in cyberspace!

Nearly forgot about this one:

My website http://www.geocities.com/t16carrier/ was not transferred to the mirror site, and sadly only the home page was cached by the wayback machine

I will look up the web pages on my computer and post the information on MLU someday.

I have finally transferred my websites which were (once) hosted by Geocities in its various forms to my own domain:

Made in Canada - Canadian Military Pattern vehicles

My Ford F15A
http://www.mapleleafup.nl/cmpfordf15a/

Marmon-Herrington Military Vehicles

VW 181 Facts & Figures

Jeep successors

Volkswagen Iltis (Typ 183)
http://www.mapleleafup.nl/newjeep/vw183/index.htm

'Europa-Jeep'

Ford M151 MUTT
http://www.mapleleafup.nl/fordm151/

Het Nederlandse legerrijwiel

As they are all at least a decade old, many of the links no longer work as websites come and go. Maybe - and at a later date - I will update the pages but the primary goal was to make this information available. See it as magazine back-issues made available in public library.

Enjoy,
Hanno

My legacy web sites are now all easily accessible via http://www.mapleleafup.nl

Also, my "A brief history of the T-16 Carrier" as published on Geoff's website universalcarrier.org has been copied verbatim on my T16 website.
And, information on THE T-16 CARRIER in use with the Canadian Army as originally published way back in 2004 was added to this site as well.

Enjoy,
Hanno
