XF gets new donk
 

My trusty XF wagon motor has expired, only done 230 k which is unusual for them to wear so quickly, they normally go to 400k or more

Badly fuming . Strip down reveals badly worn No. 1 cyl. and the rest are worn too .

New HM donk is on the way . It's a late 1987 XF with the electronic ignition advance computer . The motor geneology goes way back to the 1960's . Ford here designed a crossflow head for the classic 250 engine.

The classic BOGAN car .... cheap but not nasty

The auto transmission is the ubiquitous Borg-Warner 3 speed .. which goes back to the 1950's and was used in just about everything on wheels.

The tired 4.1..these later 250 motors were massively detuned with emission crap and a very mild cam was factory fitted . A very large aftermarket range of bits are available and you can really HOT these engines up :drunk:.
