Another airshow accident
 

A P51 was written off in another airshow accident in the UK.. A Douglas Skyraider and the P51 came together in a mid air prang ..pilot error

Looks on the video as if one of the P51 pilots climbed away from the Skyraider and another P51, and then crossed the Skyraider and clipped it's wing, with his aircraft coming off worse. Have to wait for the official response, but pilot error looks most likely. At least nobody was hurt. With pilots having to stay well in front of the crowdline no spectators were in danger; a few years ago who knows what could have happened.

wow...really glad that no one was seriously injured, or worse killed...including the crowd of course... can't imagine how the safety freaks would have howled over that..

As long as these heritage planes are flying and doing manoeuvres, there will be the occasional accident...terrible shame to learn of another irreplaceable loss of one of these exceptionally rare aircraft..but the alternative is not to see ==and hear- them doing what they were built to do...fly..
inho, it would be a very real drag to have them all one day grounded as aluminium statues...

The irony is it appears to have nothing to do with either the age of the aircraft or maintenance, just one of those pilot error things.

Very impressive save for the Skyraider - what a massive amount of damage to the wing.

Turns out that the Mustang was a CAC built one.

seems the skyarider pilot was the error,on another forum someone said it was a French pilot

Marc, thanks for posting the link, finally saw this video (I usually do not watch crash vids) as it came up in discussion. For those with a similar attitude, this is well worth watching (second vid. down) as it has some terrific aircraft in it, and surprisingly an Ex Aussie Kittyhawk "Little Genie" is shown taxiing for take off.
We had the privelge of a private air show in Wangaratta with this aircraft a few years ago, we were even allowed to play in it. A very special day indeed, which resulted in one of my favourite photos.
