Musee des Blindes, Saumur, France

Evening folks

Can anyone provide a list of the vehicles that the Musee des Blindes in Saumur has in its reserve collection - especially vehicles up to and including WW2 ?

The museum web site lists the vehicles on show in the main museum (which I have visited and recommend) but doesn't list the reserve collection.

I appreciate that the museum has rows and rows of AMX types stockpiled outside but I would love to know what other types they have inside their workshops especially the ones that are working or nearing completion.

Thanks in advance

Larry,

I think "Surviving Panzers" is a good starting point; http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Panzers.html

The PDF's do mention a number of the vehicles in the Saumur reserve collection, but I know for a fact that have lots, lots more. I have seen pictures of rows and rows of US halftracks. When I last visited the museum I remember seeing an unrestored M31 Recovery, a Panther as used post-war by the French, a Sherman M4A1 DD with a 76mm turret (the one from the Longuest day maybe???) and a second Char B. I have to check the pictures to see what more they had when I visited. If I am correct Saumur also "cleared" the Trun scrapyard for anything usefull.

This looks like another good site to check out the collection.
