Any Grizzlys or Cougars in Ontario?
Does anyone know of any Running or close to running Grizzlys or Cougars in Ontario?
In Private hands or with Museums. Thanks Guys Dean |
I think the Oshawa Museum has one.

Elgin Regt. has a Cougar, non runner museum piece though.

Shabby looking Cougar in ISAF colours at the War Museum.

I would place a friendly wager that there are, and never will any in true private ownership.

Lots of Cougars Across the River
Cougars aplenty here... http://mitchmckenna.com/items/view/6...cougar-chez106
As for the AFV Cougars, I think most went to the African Union. |

We'll never see them again. Robin, I'll bump your friendly bet that those Grizzles are still sitting on a dock, rusting away. |
I have both Cougar, Grizzley, Huskey all running with all EIS on display at our museum in Gagetown, However it is a DND military museum.

Jon,
I accept your "bump" but when are we leaving to recce the situation and decide which one of us wins? R |
Robin, email sent..if for some reason it does not go through my email is northman@rogers.com
Thank you Dean |
The AVGPs in Africa were "loaned" to the African Union as APCs and wreckers for their peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan. The AU is sort of a third-string continental version of the UN. A few have been blown up, shot up or stolen. The rest were supposed to be maintained by the Africans, with some sort of contract with a Canadian company for the more complicated stuff. But yeah, we aren't likely to see them again. I saw a page in a UN document about international arms transfers where we sold a bunch of turret-less Grizzlys to Ureguay.

Tery, any idea who or what deptment of the DND I should contact?
Thank you Dean |
Shilo museum has one in running condition. They have rented vehicles (with operator) in the past, although the transportation and housing costs will hurt the bottom line.

consultbps@smithtandl.com Smith Consulting Group LLC. 3292 Thompson Bridge Rd, Suite 360 Gainesville, GA 30506 http://www.smithconsultinggroup.net/...anadianmsa.php After looking over the website and reading about the program, DND has contracted these guys to flog a lot of Cold War inventory. So, they "own" it until sold. |
