Hi everyone.

I found these the other day while looking for somthing else. So I thought Id post them. I don't know what kind of truck they are but I am thinking a "Morris" The WD number on the hood is "A205388" It looks as if it is setup as a Battalion or Company CP.

Any thoughts.

Well, without Rory (Morris-Commercial) Ballard to hand, I'd say its a CS8.

The aero screens in the second picture are the giveaway, they are not obvious in the first one; but the first one shows the canvas doors.

What say you Mike K ?

CS8

Hi Jordon

Yes , a Morris Commercial CS8 fitted with what appears to be the office body . The office body had various fitments like map boards , fold out tables and the distinctive side tents . It was quite a radical looking thing compared to the normal GS body .

I don't know of any survivors . Maybe somebody else knows of one .

Nice pics of a rare vehicle .

I thought the A prefix was for Ambulances ?

Mike,
The WD number equates to a Bedford OX 30 cwt truck, which of course, has a prefix of "L". As you say, "A" is for ambulances, I cannot see any Morris CS8 near to that number, bit of a mystery.

I looked again at the number

Hi everyone.

I took another look at the number on the hood, this time with a magnifying glass.

What I thought to be an "A" is actually a "4". On the other pictures the prefix is a "CZ". That would make the entire number "CZ4205388"

Sorry if I had cuased any confusion about the "A". Next time I will use a magnifying glass.

No wonder I could not find the information after perusing the Morris-Commercial B List several times! Seems to me that these were 1940-issued..does that make sense? I.e. sold to the Canadians pre-CMP arrivals.
