Chore horse Exhaust muffler? Filter unit?

Does anyoe know a source for the round muffler for a Chore Horse generator? Am I correct in assuming the design was fairly standard and used on multiple generator sets?
I am looking for two mufflers, one exhaust-"hose" and one filter assy for the Chore horse.

Brian Asbury had some mufflers and I believe extension tubes about a year ago, I don't know whether he still has any. Have you tried LWD Parts? They listed chore horse sets, perhaps they have parts that are not listed.

An Ammeter from an older British motorbike will fit .... Drews had all the chorehorse spares .....but it was all dumped or scrapped  . Back in about 1980, I bought NOS bits from Bill Drew ..he had litterally tons of NOS spares for them, all wrapped up in cosmoline :salute:.

Grant thanks for your tip. Sadly, it might be necessary to give these tips by PM in the future as Brian told me he might not have any mufflers left for me, because some readers of this thread outran me in contacting Brian and ordering the Chore horse parts :teach: :nono:

Mufflers.....

.... if they are the two part cast iron ball type they are available in the USA as repro for the farm equipment...steam show small engine collectors market..... the Chorehorse was just a convenient adaptation of a farm type civvy generator for that period.

I have pictures somewhere of the civvy equivalent.... need to dig them up...

There are other videos of the civvy and some military models..... military is obviously different in appearance but he main part of the engine is the same so gaskets and other engine parts should be available.

Malcolm, Bob,

Thanks for the excellent input. Malcolm I have sent you a PM.
Bob, I didn't realise that they were available as repro, although I did look at a post-war BSA type muffler, which seems almost identical to the Chore horse exhaust.
Brian A. was able to help with the parts I needed for my Chore horse.....I just hope the boat carrying the package isn't hijacked by any pirates :D
