Marvellous, Matt!
Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like there was a bit of a blow-in component from Yass too.
Love the black and white shots, particularly this one: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/at...7&d=1321015181 |
Rat ?
Matt, good to see the old girl still doing what she has done most of her life, looks like you all had a ball.

Awesome pics. Great to see a group of carriers out and about playing. Love the disruptive paint schemes. Here in NZ the carriers were only Khaki Green. If there ever was the hint of a disruptive pattern I'd be the first one down to the paint shop !

Yes that Carrier is on Guadacanal. I'm not sure if thats a Kiwi Carrier or an Aussie one, although Jeff's literature alludes to the NZ 3rd Division trialing anti grenade screens to the carriers. If thats the case it would make an interesting Carrier. Thanks for that I'll do some home work and see what comes of it. :salute:

Sorry to hijack this thread. Read a bit further along of Jeff's book and he states that the carriers used by 3 NZ Division were Universal Carriers. The anti grenade screens had to be modified as they were designed for LP's. I know NZ LP's were sent to Tonga, Fiji and the Solomons as well but to date no pics showing disruptive paint jobs. Oh well maybe I should move to Oz !

Or restore a Universal carrier :yappy: You know you want to!! Waaay better to drive than an LP, trust me! :thup2:
