Dodge D60S and D60L
Niek and Erick Baecke are looking at two Dodge D60 T110l trucks with a view to rebuilding one out of the two. ( I don't have images stored on this PC unfortunately )

Hi Gordon,
here attached you can find the data plates of my D60L5, they report S/M 2668. This Dodge is dated Jan,5,1943 and has a General Service cargo bed. I suppose this vehicle served the British 8th army in Italy. I hope this can help. Gustavo |

Hi Stew My normal twisted CMP thoughts are now overshadowed by banned greasy food !!!! ...but I agree with you.... that truck fully restored.... maybe with a modern hemi engine for cruising the car shows ..... would be awesome !!! eight lug, non-British pattern wheels no tow hooks civilian front bumper I'd guess that must have been one of the first chassis / cowls made post WW2 then, as that model went out in 1947. Gordon |

Anybody knows about other Dodges Closed Body ( Delivery truck ... Boyertown S8 ) on T110 or D60 ? maybe as canteen truck, or bookmobile ?? in army service or civilan use ?? thanks bernard |

As I understand it all the T110L were delivered as cargo body or dump bed. There were variations in chassis length, single or dual wheel, single or two speed rear axle, stuff like that.
No water tankers, van bodies, ambulances, or other variants. I don't even recall post war conversions. Of course the army might have swapped any suitable 3 ton truck body onto that chassis, and probably did, but I've never seen evidence of it being done once, much less any real quantity. Anyone know to the contrary? |

1 and 5 look home made, 4 is a proper coach built job and 2 looks like a transplant from a standard 3 ton. All could be T110L or T222 based if short enough Number 3 is really rare in that it is an export chassis cowl bodied with Australian or Indian pattern locally built body. It isn't a T110L though |

1 looks a British D60 ( rims ), 2 looks a civilian delivery truck conversion, 3 might be a light truck " woody " , 4 is very interesting, might be a bus conversion but those are mostly on 3 ton chassis. 5 got big rims so might be 3 ton REA truck ( look-a-like).
What I am looking for is the n° 4 on a long chassis with the 5 stud rims 7.50 x 20. Possibily build by Boyertown coach builder on a Dodge civilan chassis just before war production started in the Boyertown plant. Boyertown got a delivery body fitted for the 160 " chassis, body called S8 or SN8 . Body existed allso for the smaller 1 ton ( S 7 and SN7 ) . that body was later on used for the Dodge S7Ma 51 and S8Ma51 ambulances. For sure that body existed in 1941 -1942 for milk trucks and delivery purpose. This is a picture of my old D 100L, when I bought it came with a US style wooden cargo body. The owner said it was bought from the army sales like that by a vegetable merchant. I thought originally it might have been a re bodied tipper, but it had a single speed rear axle and no visible signs of a removed PTO or any control levers.

D60l/d
That's a D60L/D, ( for dual rears ) one of the less common variants, designed for over-the-road cargo transport, and I seem to remember it had a different wheel / tyre / type / size as the standard British wheels on the others wouldn't dual up.
I'm sure I saw that truck at Glamis many years back? |
