Track and T16 parts on milweb

Folks
Some track has appeared on milweb , as well as a T16 axle - Rick you may wants to have a look !

thanks shaun but the guys a little over the top on his price, although the track looks to be in great condition it would have to come with the bren gun carrier attatched for me to part with £8k. having said that, if there really is enough track for 3 carriers and you can batter him down to £6k then it stacks up.
if anyone needs track and is interested then maybe we could club together and get some, i only need about 200 links to get enough for my t16 so let me know if you're interested

i also noticed he had the fabricated and not cast idler assemblies :thup2:.

cheers

It's pretty long, it goes through the fence, it must have wheels of some sort to?

I didnt think it was too bad the average for full track is 3k and if there is three full sets plus drive axle wheels etc ? still a lot of money but.....

Does look expensive.
If you look, the made up chassis is much narrower than a UC so the T16 rear axle would only be good for the diff and brake bands. Also if you look at the distance from drive sprocket to idler there is either simple skids to guide the track or a series of small wheels, can't be normal UC road wheels, perhaps a series of rack return rollers.
T16s are what...180ish tracks links per side. I read the advert as enough track for three assemblies, i.e one and a half carriers worth, but looking at the indoors and outside photos there looks to be at least enough for two carriers.

NB: I think I was given the heads up about these tracks last year, there is a saw mill in Wiltshire who have a similar setup which they use to move timber into the building, with the openable fence panel wall etc... I was also told that the mill owner 'knew they were very valuable', possibly the same place.

I've heard there are 2 wheels per side, it has to all be taken away inc chassis and the price is pretty firm. He's knows what they're worth and is happy to hold onto them until his price is met......it's in Yeovil. perhaps if a few folks grouped together and the price could come down a bit!!!!!

I think people in England have forgotten the old phrase that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. At least around Lincoln, if you can't sell your house for what it was worth in 2007 then you get grumpy and then rent it out until it is worth what you think it should be! Having said that I am sure he will sell the parts at a high price.

Sorry, perhaps i should have put quotation marks around that phrase! they are the sellers words not mine. I have no connection but just passing on what i was told.

You are right, it's only worth what someone will pay.

track

I Had some extra pics sent of that track and I estimate he has about 600 to 650 links there. So he wants 4 k for a set of carrier track, but you do get the bonus of a chopped down T16 diff and some carrier road wheels with no rubber on them ...............Oh and also the pleasure of lifting out the frame and transporting to the scrap yard. If he wants to hold on to it let him!. I offered him a fair price but was refused

kev.
