Data Plate
 

I have a M38A1 CDN 3C Recoilless Rifle Jeep,does anyone know where I can get the Data Plate found on the right rear corner?

Does the 3C have its data plates in different places than the basic ECC122301 3?

Or do you refer to the right rear of the firewall meaning on the right side of the dash by the chicken bar?

I worked on a lot of the Cdn3 recoiless jeeps and never saw anything on them besides the standard Cdn 3 dash plates and the serial plate on the wheelwell just behind the co-drivers seat.

I have been out for awhile,is it only the U.S. versions that had a data plate on the right rear body corner,almost being covered by the right leg of the tripod?If this is the case I stand corrected.

I have some very nice M38A1CCDN3 images in my collection of CF vehicle photographs that I took in the early 1980s and I have images of the data plate locations on both the M38A1CDN and the M38A1CCDN which show that the data plates on both are in the same location and the same type. I have also attached an image of the rear of the M38A1CCDN which shows the M40A1 mounted to the Jeep.

This is the plate I refer to.

Unless they were all taken for souvenirs, I don't believe we ever used those plates in Cdn service.

Thanks for the answer,prevents me from looking for something not required.

Put a post on Steel Soldiers.com ... one of the chaps had this variant, and didn't like the split windscreen ... he was going to down build to something that he was more comfy with. Hop on there and do a search, or a post ... and you could find gold.

BTW, they want you to pay for classifieds, so ask for advice rather than solicit ...

After a bit you probably will pay the nominal fee, because it really is worth it!
